What Maket makes

Tools people open to get something done. Bought once, downloaded instantly, and yours to edit.

THE TOOLS

Two kinds of file, one standard

The spreadsheets are workbooks built to calculate rather than to look like a dashboard: a payroll withholding calculator and a tracker for self-employed tax. The document packs are real .docx — contracts, model releases, questionnaires, shot lists — that open in Word, Google Docs or Pages and can be changed line by line.

Nothing renews. Every tool is bought once, stays yours in the version you bought, and corrections arrive free through Gumroad. New tools ship when they are finished.

THE RULE

Counted in the file, or it stays off the page

Every figure printed on a Maket page — pages, tabs, formulas, documents, log rows — was taken from the artefact itself. Not copied from another page, not from a document written an hour earlier, not rounded up because it read better.

A build gate refuses to publish when a page and the catalogue disagree, and it reads the catalogue rather than a list somebody maintains by hand. That is the whole reason the counts on this site can be trusted: they are not written, they are read.

A figure with no source is a guess in a suit.

AI

Used in the build, and said so on every page

AI tooling writes formulas quickly and reads a large workbook faster than a person. It also produces arithmetic that is plausible and wrong, which is the dangerous kind, because plausible is what survives a review.

That is why every figure gets checked against something published before the file goes out, and why the check gets written down. The control is what makes the output usable, whatever produced it.

BUILT TO ORDER

When the shelf does not fit

Some calculations belong to one company and nobody else. Those get built at a fixed price agreed before the work starts: a calculation model, an audit of a workbook you have stopped trusting, or a monthly reporting pack. Same maker, same rule about numbers.

Checkout for the tools runs on Gumroad; this site never takes payment and never asks for an account. Work made to order is sold as fixed-price projects on Upwork. One email address reaches everything: maket.studio@proton.me, answered within 24 hours.

AI disclosure

I use AI tooling in the build. That is exactly why every figure is reconciled against your source and why you get the log.

Questions

Asked before hiring

What does Maket make?

Work tools in two kinds of file: spreadsheets built to calculate, and document packs in editable Word format. A free browser-based .xlsx checker sits alongside them, and further tools are built to order.

What does counted in the file mean?

Every number printed on a page was taken from the artefact itself rather than copied from an older page. A build gate refuses to publish when a page and the catalogue disagree, and it reads the catalogue rather than a hand-maintained list.

Which programs do the files open in?

The document packs are .docx and open in Word, Google Docs and Pages. The spreadsheets are .xlsx: the payroll calculator opens in Excel 2016 or later, the tax tracker in Excel 2021 or later, and both open in LibreOffice Calc. Apple Numbers and Google Sheets do not carry the deeper formulas. Each product page states what its own file was built for.

Is there a subscription?

No. Every tool is a one-time purchase and stays yours in the version you bought. Corrections to that version arrive free through Gumroad. Yearly editions of the same tool are sold separately rather than as forced upgrades.

How is work made to order bought?

As fixed-price projects on Upwork: a custom calculation model, a spreadsheet audit, or a monthly reporting pack. Scope and price are agreed in writing before the work starts.

The standard, in one file

A US federal payroll withholding engine in Excel: 9 tabs, 13,815 formulas, 4,350 figures published in IRS Publication 15-T reproduced to the dollar, and a 4,375-line log naming the source, page and date of every one. How that log is built, and how to check a row against the publication, is written out in full.

Read the file before reading the pitch.
